We’re looking for an organized, design savvy new addition to our team in Plymouth, MN as a Project Coordinator - Design.

Responsibilities

The role of the Project Coordinator - Design is to provide general support to the Design Manager regarding all aspects of the design process. This position will work on multiple projects simultaneously, in several demographic markets. A successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and encourage out-of-the-box thinking while ensuring our product does not decline in quality. This role will directly help accomplish the following:

  • Assist in maintaining an on-brand aesthetic appropriate to the market, neighborhood, and programming intentions.
  • Review and assist with all construction and design documents and provide project-specific recommendations and input regarding architectural planning and design throughout all phases of pre-development through to completion.
  • Review electrical, lighting, audio-visual, and technology plans for complex projects.
  • Assist with reviewing FF&E plans and provide feedback to Interior Designers.
  • Support Design Manager with FF&E staging on projects completed inhouse.
  • Assist in complex construction project coordination, quality control efforts, project scheduling, and building material procurement.
  • Participate in box walks for all common area spaces and residences as needed.
  • Walk residences and common area spaces for progress and compliance with plans as needed.
  • Understand the intricacies of project budgets and be able to assist and review with the internal team buyout and value engineering decisions.
  • Assist with value engineering to vet or find alternate ways and means and/or specifications.
  • Assist in FF&E sourcing and specifications and can work with consultants to specify and source products that meet the project budget.
  • Review and understand submittals, shop drawings, RFIs and construction documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • 1-3 years’ experience working at an architectural firm, design firm or construction company.
  • Experience working on multiple residential or hospitality projects involving all aspects of the construction, design documents and FF&E sourcing and procurement.
  • Ability to review and understand submittals, shop drawings, RFIs and construction documentation. Experience in all aspects of the construction and design documents and processes.
  • Excellent design talent: ability to conceptualize and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to study and critique floor plans in line with market and leasing trends.
  • Software skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, One Note, Outlook, Power Point, and Adobe Acrobat. Experience with Bluebleam and AutoCAD preferred.
  • Skilled communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, ability to facilitate and manage relationships.
  • Ability to read construction plans.
  • Highly resourceful problem solver and a quick learner.
  • Skillful time management skills and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Operates with the understanding that we do our best when we work together.
  • Ability to travel locally and out of state.
