Job Summary:
Raytheon is seeking a Network Administrator to join this high impact team. This is an on-site position which will be based in the Dallas, TX office. This position will transition to the Plano, TX office in late 2024 or early 2025. Frequent local commuting between the McKinney, Dallas, Plano, and Richardson sites will be required and occasional domestic travel may be required. The Network Administrator will have networking knowledge and is expected to work autonomously with limited supervision. Candidate must have a solid background supporting networks.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability of classified network infrastructures.
- Configure, administer, and update network hardware and software, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and encryption devices.
- Configure and troubleshoot Technical Security Controls to meet cybersecurity requirements.
- Maintains smooth operation of voice and data networks. Plans, evaluates, coordinates, and performs installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication network.
- Develop technical expertise in all areas of voice and data networks hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as switches, routers, firewalls, authentication servers, encryptors etc.
- Prepares or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions, technical diagrams, and other documentation. Where no documentation exists, new documentation will be created.
- Provide regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
- Work with program engineers to resolve networking problems in tactical environments.
- Willingness and availability to work outside normal business hours (evenings and weekends) as needed.
Security Clearance: Candidate must possess an active US DoD Top Secret Security clearance on Day 1 and maintain throughout employment. In addition, candidate must be willing and able to pass polygraphs during employment. Except in rare cases, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
- The role typically requires a bachelor's degree with 2 years' experience or 6 years' experience in lieu of degree, or associate degree with 4 years' experience is also acceptable.
- An active and transferable U.S. government issued Top SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience with administering Cisco routers and switches including one or more of the following: EtherChannel, Spanning-Tree Protocol, VTP, port-security, dynamic routing protocols, access control lists, subnetting/supernetting, and/or software/firmware updates.
- Experience with current cabling and fiber standards
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Next Generation Firewalls.
- Experience with Visio diagramming and design capabilities.
- Active certifications: DoD-approved 8570 baseline certification at IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+), Associate-level Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA).
- Effective customer service skills, including oral and written communications.
- Ability to work under time constraints.
- Experience with classified computing, STIG compliance, and network refreshes
- Experience as a Network Administrator in classified environments highly desired.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting:
- Type-1 HAIPE encryptors
- VPN technologies and protocols such as IPSEC, GRE, L2TP, and DMVPN
- Cisco Unified Communication Manager or Call Manager Express
- Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE)
- RADIUS and TACACS+ authentication, authorization, and accounting
- 802.1x
- Working knowledge of SNMP-based network management tools (e.g., SolarWinds)
- Active certifications:DoD-approved 8570 baseline certification at IAT Level III (e.g., CISSP, sec+) or Professional or Expert-level Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNP)
