POSITION SUMMARY:
The Information Security department at University of Rochester is seeking an enthusiastic student as our IAM (Identity & Access Management) Cybersecurity Intern.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled as a student in a Computer Science or a similar degree program at University of Rochester or other local universities.
- A genuine interest in software development, cybersecurity and IAM, with a desire to learn about identity and access management principles, technologies, and best practices.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Prior experience or coursework in software development, cybersecurity, or system administration is preferred but no required.
NOTE: The timeframe for this role is June 3 rd - August 9 th, 2024
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work under the guidance of the department Information Security - IAM and administration teams to assist with and/or actively lead activities pertaining to the assigned project.
- Learn and utilize IAM and SDLC processes and tools.
- Track lessons learned throughout assignment for presentation to UIT leadership team.
- Learn and demonstrate use of Microsoft Office toolset, SharePoint, and other project office collaboration tools.
- Work closely with manager, establishing a goal plan with objectives to be completed by conclusion of assignment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Matriculated in an undergraduate studies program in IT, business administration, healthcare administration, engineering, or related field preferred.
- 1+ year of work experience is preferred.
- or an equivalent combination of education training and/or experience required
- No professional work experience is required.
- Technical aptitude with ability to quickly learn new technology preferred.
- Ability to express complex concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing preferred.
- Solution oriented with a positive attitude preferred.
- Strong ability to prioritize. Strong attention to detail preferred.
- Reliable and able to establish trust with your team.
- No professional certification required. Must be able to travel to designated sites as assigned.

Pay Range
Pay Range: $16.50 - $21.45 Hourly
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
