Job Summary:
With support from the Council on Library and Information Services' Recordings at Risk program, the WCS Library and Archives is digitizing 84 film reels created by WCS's Department of Tropical Research between the 1920s and 1960s. The Archives Project Assistant plays a key role in the project by creating descriptive metadata for these films and adding this information to the WCS Library and Archives' instances of ArchivesSpace and Preservica.
This is a temporary (16 weeks) part-time (20 hour/week) position.
Major Responsibilities:
The individual's main responsibilities will include:
Creating content descriptions for all digitized materials.
Formatting item-level metadata for upload into and ArchivesSpace and Preservica.
Performing quality control checks on digitized materials.
Publishing two blog posts related to the project on the WCS Archives' blog.
