Job Title: Project Analyst / Consultant
Classification: Full Time, Exempt
Location: Remote or Temecula, CA
Salary Range: $65,000 - $95,000
Summary: NBS currently has an opening for a Project Analyst / Consultant in the District Formation Consulting Group (DFC). This practice provides consulting services to public agencies related to formation of special financing districts and related analyses. This specialized area is a combination of the disciplines of public administration, finance, local government accounting practices, public works and local government operations. The position will interact with our public sector clients and NBS internal staff.
A Project Analyst / Consultant is responsible for providing data analysis support, data collection, and key aspects of project facilitation across multiple clients. Work will include but not be limited to:
- Extraction and manipulation of large Excel and/or database files to establish and analyze County secured roll and other data to create a parcel database
- Interaction with clients for purposes of data collection, organizational analysis, and documentation of results relevant to each project
- Preparation of templated models in Excel, reports in Word, and presentations in Power Point
- Active participation as a member of a consulting team
- Processing of work tasks to meet established deadlines
The Project Analyst/Consultant will report to a DFC manager. NBS has offices in Temecula and San Francisco, California. Opportunities also exist for a remote work location.
Position Requirements: NBS is seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
- College degree required, preferably in Business, Finance, Economics, Public Administration, Planning or a related field.
- Two years minimum experience working in a local government agency, in a consulting firm serving either the public or private sector, or other related business/finance position.
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel User including functions such as Pivot, V-Look Up, sumif/countif, etc.
- Ability to:
- Work both independently and as part of a team to produce results for clients.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with a variety of government agency staff
- Travel flexibly and frequently throughout California. Travel will be minimal for the first two years or so but increases with proficiency in subject matter and assigned tasks
- Prioritize across a multitude of tasks/deadlines
- Maintain attention to detail and accuracy while under time pressure
