Job Summary This Project Policy Analyst position is a 100% limited position based on available funding for the period March 1, 2024 - August 2025. The Project Policy Analyst is responsible for leading and facilitating the design, implementation, dissemination, and assessment of various administrative and research projects related to health equity, diversity, and inclusion (HEDI). The individual will be involved with multiple collaborators and sites involved in the project including the School of Nursing, School of Medicine, and other UC campuses.
The Project Policy Analyst will serve as the Project Manager and will execute all required management and operational aspects of the project and serve as a UC Davis liaison to the project team members, internal and external collaborators, and consultants. This position will work with senior members of the faculty, administration, and clinicians of the multiple sites requiring diplomacy, initiative, independence, originality, and judgment in applying established principles and practices to address complex multi-variable issues. The Project Policy Analyst for the School of Nursing's Health Equity, Diversity and Inclusion will help design, implement, and operationalize a diverse portfolio of health equity projects. This position will support the associate dean of health equity, diversity, and inclusion in the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing in launching and implementing a novel set of diversity and inclusion activities within the school and UC Davis Health.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Three plus years of demonstrated project management to oversee multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in developing strategic direction and parcel objectives into short-term tasks.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required to prepare reports, project plans, and presentations. Must be extremely competent with word processing, presentation software, spreadsheets, databases, and internet.
  • Ability to problem-solve and demonstrate insight to understand issues that require escalation to other members of the project team independently and creatively.
  • Diplomacy to effectively represent UC Davis and communicate effectively with faculty and administrators from external organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a team leader and team meeting facilitator. Ability to quickly ascertain group dynamics and organizational issues and respond appropriately and effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills to determine workload priorities to enable timely completion of tasks. Ability to work effectively and independently under pressure with a minimum of direction.
  • Ability to provide effective team leadership.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years in the field of diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Experience with implementation of health equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives in an academic health setting
  • Master's degree in related area strongly preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Must be able to work extra hours (nights and weekends) on occasion if important development is behind schedule or the correction of problems considered critical. Must be able to travel to partners sites for meetings and to conferences for outreach. Must be able to work onsite or remotely as required.

  • This position is a critical position and subject to a background check and drug screen. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background investigation including criminal history, identity checks and drug screen.
