We are seeking a Project Accountant to join our growing Forth Worth team. This role will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of their assigned electrical/construction projects, ensuring that costs are accurately estimated, budgets are maintained, and project finances are effectively managed. The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure the financial success of each project.

What will you do as a Project Accountant at Spark Power?
- Review of WIP and unbilled cost reports and provide explanations
- Collaborate with project managers to develop accurate cost estimates for construction projects.
- Prepare and maintain project budgets, ensuring that expenses are within budget and any discrepancies are addressed.
- Monitor project expenses, identifying any overages or potential areas of concern, and work with project managers to resolve issues. Prepare monthly management reporting on project variances.
- Support the project managers with change order preparation.
- Ensure that all financial transactions related to the project are accurately recorded, including purchase orders, vendor invoices, time entries, and sales tax.
- Maintain accurate financial records for each project and reconcile accounts as necessary.
- Prepare monthly reports for projects and portfolio level that shows key financial KPI's, cash flow projections, risks and opportunities.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and make recommendations to project managers to improve project profitability.
- Manage the billing process, ensuring that invoices are accurate, timely, and comply with contractual requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate payments are made.

Do you have the Spark? Here's what we're looking for:
- Post-Secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or Technical discipline preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience the Electrical or Construction industries
- Advanced MS office skills and proficient in Excel.
- Familiarity with AIA documentation is an asset.
- General understanding of Commercial Project Delivery methods and Contract types.
- Highly organized and attention to detail and keen on getting accurate data and results.
- Able to manage time effectively and work.
- Excellent communication skills both orally and written.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
