Form of workDescription We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the engineering industry, located in Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity of our projects by analyzing costs, revenues, and financial commitments. This role will require expertise in Deltek Vision software and a deep understanding of the accounting close process.
ResponsibilitiesManage all financial aspects of projects through ongoing job forecasting.
Collaborate with project managers to monitor project costs and budget.
Record project costs and reconcile discrepancies.
Oversee all billings, including direct costs, overhead charge, and profit.
Monitor monthly client invoicing and revenue recognition.
Prepare and analyze project budget and profitability reports.
Assist in new project setup, including contract analysis and budget setup.
Interface with project managers to provide financial insight on projects' statuses.
Ensure project legal documents are completed and signed.
Ensure compliance with company policies, as well as federal and state regulations. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role within the Engineering industry
Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel, and accounting software
Strong understanding of the accounting close process
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions based on analysis
