Pine Gate Renewables is seeking an experienced Project Accounting Manager that is excited about working in the dynamic renewable energy industry. This position reports to the Senior Project Accounting Manager/Director and will manage the processes of the Transactions Project Accounting team. You should thrive working in a fast-paced, detail oriented, and evolving environment. In this role, you will lead a team working cross functionally with other departments with other internal and external stakeholders providing excellent customer service, accurate and timely financial information and deliverables while continuously engaging in process improvement.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the flow of funds process for all portfolio level closings collaborating with Project Finance, Legal Operations, FPA and other internal and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Oversee the monthly draw process for projects in development and construction, including final review of draw packages prior to execution.
  • Set, manage, and oversee the month end and quarter end close functions for the Transactions team including reviewing and analyzing the financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Establish and implement accounting policies and procedures that: adhere to applicable financial and tax regulations, comply with GAAP, and provide a robust internal control structure.
  • Facilitate the flow of information between the Transactions team, other accounting teams and departments within the company, as well as subsidiary entities, external auditors, and consultants.
  • Review and approve transactions for accuracy, completeness and validity prepared/received by the Transactions Team; including but not limited to payments (ACHs, Wires, internal transfers, checks), customer and vendor invoices, and journal entries.
  • Work independently and in a team environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously, make decisions, prioritize job duties, and meet assigned deadlines.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve productivity, increase efficiencies and streamline processes.
  • Schedule and lead weekly meetings for Transactions Team; and one on one individual meetings with team members.

Must-Haves

  • 4+ years of progressive responsibility in a corporate accounting environment or combination of public accounting and corporate accounting.
  • 3+ years of managerial experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with complex organizational structures, joint ventures, and parent-subsidiaries.
  • 2+ years of experience in construction accounting.
  • Strong proficiency with GAAP.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously, make decisions, prioritize job duties, and meet assigned deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate concerns/issues/status updates and develop strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills.
  • Proficient at MS Office.

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA/MBA/MA a plus.

Working Environment and Physical Demand

  • Position works in an office/remote office environment. If remote, semiannual travel to Asheville, NC.
  • Must be able to sit/stand at a desk and utilize a computer, for extended periods of time.
