Summary:
The position will be focused on managing Computer Science outreach activities for West Michigan and across Michigan. This position will be responsible for managing multiple outreach efforts from start to finish. The position will engage with programs that may include Code.org, Bootstrap Data Science, Elementary Bootcamp, and MiCode Experience.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Develop, plan and coordinate outreach programs, events and activities in for K-12 teachers and students.
- Assist in the planning and execution of various programming including the MiCode Experience, TeacherCon and statewide programs
- Convene statewide partners to increase opportunities for teachers and school districts
- Connect with various GVSU departments such as School of Computing with outreach opportunities
- Represent the Regional Math and Science Center on local, regional and state committees as needed.
- Write articles for and help coordinate electronic edition of the Interchange Newsletter.
- Assist with website editing
- Perform other duties as required/assigned by leadership.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- BA, BS in STEM, education, communication, or related field
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated program management. (ie: Budget, volunteer/staff coordination, task management
- Computer proficiency in MS Office, Google products, and related applications
- Ability to work with a team on project development is critical. Strong organizational and time management skills. Skillful with multiple projects and multiple deadlines
- Driver's License
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED
- Master’s degree in related field.
- Proficiency in web-based applications and social media.
- Understanding of the Michigan K-12 education system.
- Familiarity with and/or experience building intersectional support structures for students underrepresented in the STEM fields
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Normal office environment. Some travel may be required.

Salary: $43,524 - $67,152 depending on experience
