Job description

Organization Overview: Many of our most sophisticated cognitive abilities are thought to have evolved to subserve social interactions, yet the underlying computations that make these interactions possible, in all their complexity and nuance, remain elusive. The Price Family Center for the Social Brain was established with a dual mission: 1) to advance a basic understanding of Social Brain function by mapping its underlying molecular, cellular and circuit basis and 2) to utilize the insights gained and methods developed to forge new links between basic and applied neuroscience with the ultimate goal to alleviate the suffering caused by impairments of Social Brain function. Overview:

The Price Family Center for the Social Brain is currently seeking a full-time Program Manager/Administrative Coordinator to join our team and collaboratively manage the growing scientific and administrative operations of the Center. The Program Manager will work closely with the Directors to help shape the Center's intellectual trajectory through the development and implementation of long-term initiatives, including recruitment of junior fellows, granting mechanisms, and annual programming and outreach. The Program Manager will also work independently to execute and manage the Center’s various editorial and curatorial projects.

The successful candidate will be highly organized and able to keep track of and orchestrate multiple projects in parallel; will provide input on the content of editorial and curatorial projects and contribute to writing, editing, curating, and directing research-related content.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with planning and executing group and project meetings, seminars, workshops, Center-wide and group-specific team building events.
  • Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned or required that help with the administration of the Price Family Center for the Social Brain.
Qualifications:
Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in neuroscience or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in high-level administrative support, including project management.
  • Experience coordinating travel, handling complex calendars for various high-level personnel, scheduling, hosting events and handling confidential information is necessary.
  • Previous work in a scientific research or academic setting is a plus.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Accuracy, careful attention to detail and the ability to organize multiple complex assignments and activities.
  • Self-motivated and demonstrates initiative, patience, and resourcefulness in adapting to changes; a capacity to function well with minimal oversight.
