Position Details:
Position Type: Full-Time
Job Location: Hillsdale, MI.
Shift: 1st shift (7am-3pm)
Compensation: $17.50 / hour

Summary:
The operator will perform tasks associated with the process of producing a quality product. This may require working on many different tasks during a working shift. We are seeking candidates from all levels of light industrial fields including, Warehouse Operators, forklift, shipping/receiving, machine operation and maintenance. Individuals should have a commitment to safety and producing quality products. Training will be provided and opportunities for advancement exist. In this role you will ship, receive and store raw materials and finished goods. You'll verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment. You'll use a sit-down forklift to load, unload and move products throughout the facility.
Duties:
- This location makes industrial adhesives used in the automotive industry
- Operate forklift truck or hand-truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
- Compare identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Produce and attach shipping labels on cartons, pails, drums, pallets, etc.
- Insert items into containers.
- Band and/or shrink-wrap containers.
- Examine incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and notifies Logistics Coordinator.
- Route items to departments.
- Inform Logistics Coordinator of inventory of shipping materials and supplies issues.
- Maintain housekeeping in warehouse and shipping dock.
- Fill in as needed in Shipping and Receiving.
- Comply with and follow established quality control processes.
- Follow established procedures for operating manufacturing equipment for tasks.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Forklift experience is required.
- Professional experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
- Must have strong work history.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow written work instructions is a must.
- Physical requirements include standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Be flexible to work overtime and cover other shifts as/if needed.
- Must have basic math and computer skills.
- This position requires the use of the following during operations ( eyes protection, steeled toe shoes, hard hat).
- This position is located in an industrial environment and all employees are expected to follow safety rules, meet production expectations, and uphold quality standards.
- Candidates cannot begin an assignment without successful drug & background screening clearances.
