About the Job:
The Program Manager is a seasonal position focused on executing Film at Lincoln Center's community career development initiatives. FLC Academies is organized into two threads, "Critics Academy" and "Artists Academy," which are intended to create space for a cohort of approximately six (6) - eight (8) participants (each) to interact with experienced filmmakers, industry professionals, and Critics to discuss their work and what it takes to create a sustainable living while focusing on creative endeavors. The Program Manager will oversee the application, cohort selection, and physical execution of each phase of the program. The ideal candidate is creative, driven, and organized, with experience in arts event production and execution. The position is remote/hybrid from May through August 2023, with more in-person, on-the-ground activity needed throughout September and October 2023 during the New York Film Festival.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the application and selection process for the 2023 Critics and Artist Academies.
- Oversee application submissions and answer applicant questions
- Coordinate advisory panels reviewing/selecting the Critics and Artist Academies
- Collaborate with the Film Comment team on the application process for Critics Academy
- Communicate key information to FLC Staff regarding candidate selection and confirmation
- Deliver key assets such as biographies, curriculum vitae, and headshots for the confirmed cohort.
- Manage the program production, budget, and schedule
- Oversee pre-production for the in-person elements of each program thread, including:
- Confirm programmatic elements, including invitations for speakers and workshop schedule
- Secure necessary spaces and build out a venue plan for how these spaces will be utilized
- Create necessary runs of the show, program schedules, and other production documents
- Manage the work of the Program Assistant and volunteers necessary to produce these events
- Collaborate with Special Events and Marketing Departments to coordinate cohort(s) participation in broader NYFF activities, including screenings, dinners, and other events.
- Facilitate Cohort-specific post-event surveys and create a comprehensive financial and programmatic wrap report due at the end of the term.
- Participate in regular meetings to share progress and to ensure the program is fully integrated into FLC's normal workflows.
- Will hire and manage a Coordinator.
Requirements
Qualifications and Skills
- 5 + years of comparable experience
- Experience in Project/Program Management
- Art, festival, and film industry a must
- Experience supervising staff and working with filmmakers/film artists
- Experience with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, etc)
- Must be comfortable working extended hours during the New York Film Festival, including early mornings, late nights, and weekends may be required.
- Capacity to work independently, self-starter, with high attention to detail and the ability to triage tasks according to the urgency
