The Oncology Program Manager implements key strategies and initiatives for the Oncology Service Line with a focus on cross-departmental workflows, analytics, programmatic growth and development and revenue cycle optimization. This role works closely with members of hospital and medical group leadership and serves as the primary oncology liaison to the Bon Secours Medical Group. This role directly oversees all clerical members of leadership as well as front office leads. Areas of oversight include medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology and infusion.
Essential Job Functions
- Researches, evaluates, designs and implements new workflows and opportunities for process improvement, efficiencies and growth in collaboration with members of hospital and medical group leadership as well as front-line staff.
- Develops and fosters effective collaboration and communication between staff, departments, leadership & physicians to ensure an integrated approach to enhancing and developing services for oncology.
Develops and maintains data analytics from a programmatic perspective, to include benchmarking with oncology specific standards.
- Reviews and reports on financial performance within areas of oversight; collaborates with clinical partners, Ensemble, RC Billing and other key stakeholders for revenue cycle optimization.
- Serve as the primary oncology liaison to BSMG and represents or delegates attendance for required BSMG meetings or work groups; responsible for completing or delegating deliverables from BSMG for the oncology service line.
- Assists with the development of annual plans for continued growth in patient volume; partners with director and finance department to develop program budgets.
Proactively develops business by building positive relationships with referring and potential referring physicians.
Collaborates with BSMG & BSMH in developing policies for oncology service line.
Directly oversees clerical leadership as well as front office leads to include development and coaching; guides and supports clerical initiatives and helps foster relationships between clerical leaders and other teams.
Leads regularly scheduled meetings with direct reports, quality leadership, oncology financial services leadership, physicians and key staff.
Fulfills position responsibilities and expectations by coaching, developing and empowering direct reports. Manages and supports clerical leadership in a manner that promotes collaborative and compassionate patient care and cross-departmental relationships.
Assumes additional administrative duties and competencies at the direction of the Director of Operations and may assume additional duties in the absence of the Practice Administrator/Manager and/or Director.
