Job Description Summary
The Program Manager directs a virtual cross-functional engineering development team. The position drives clarity by defining and prioritizing the program objectives, critical success factors and deliverables for the team. Additionally, the Program Manager motivates the team and drives a sense of urgency on meeting program commitments. As part of the Leadership Team, the Program Manager works with the Business Team and program leadership team to deliver quality products on time, within budget and with competitive features. Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Own program milestones (through all phases of NPI to at least M4)
- Allocation of agreed resources to program tasks
- Cost and TCO targets (including install and warranty)
- Travel requests preparation and justifications
- Material and P&E budgeting and spend for all Resonance Module components
- Ensure one plan across the SBU is agreed and published, including vision statement, areas of responsibility and commitments to the program
- Working with the system program core team to ensure all deliverables for the program are achieved
- Driving effective communication across team, department and business – from preparation of regular progress highlights from FLO/MTY to all information required by the Program
- Work with local people leaders and all other Program Managers to ensure that deliverables across the department are scheduled and optimized
Quality Specific Goals:
- Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
- Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
- Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
- Drive compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Control FDRs and NPI program milestones
- Identify continuous improvement activities by initiating the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree within appropriate Engineering/Science discipline or Bachelors Degree and 2 years of Project Management experience or equivalent (defined as High School Diploma/GED and 4 years progressive experience within the discipline. Minimum of 5 years experience in project leadership within a manufacturing, development, technical industry or research environment Demonstrated execution at meeting project goals while satisfying quality, performance, schedule, and budget CTQ’s Demonstrated engineering knowledge, Program Management, and business planning processes, having experience with the full product lifecycle Familiarity with ISO, FDA and other regulatory standards
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree or PhD in Engineering or equivalent (defined as 15 years progressive experience within engineering, science, or related field, including 10 years project leadership experience within manufacturing, development, or research development) Cross functional experience - senior role in manufacturing and engineering roles. Demonstrable interaction with supplier base of superconducting magnets or similar industry Strategic planner and thinker with ability to drive program execution to plan Sound technical and domain experience in at least one component technology area Demonstrated experience on global product releases throughout the entire NPI cycle Strong written and oral communication skills Excellent knowledge in engineering, Program Management and business planning processes having experience with the full product lifecycle Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task Demonstrated problem solving ability and results orientation Demonstrated LEAN skills.
