Position Overview:
Under the direction of the executive director, this position is responsible for the project management of all logistics and communications for our global surgical clinics.
Major Responsibilities:

Project management of each surgical clinic (8-12 per year)
- Volunteer communications, logistics, and management (avg. 30 non/medical volunteers per trip)
- Management of international travel for all volunteers
- Routine communications with volunteers for trip preparation
- Management of visa applications
- Application for temporary medical permits for all medical volunteers
- Training of non-medical Volunteers (when applicable)
- Packing & unpacking the medical records box
- Assisting the mission director with preparation as required
- Responsibility for and proactive resolution of all travel queries
- Ensure all medical volunteers complete their volunteer contribution
- Ensure all volunteers complete their post-trip evaluation and file accordingly
Office Administration
- Assisting development and marketing manager as required
- Assisting with warehouse logistics
- Assisting with the processing of donations
- Resolving queries in Salesforce
- Digitization of medical records
Who You Are:
We are looking for an optimistic, proactive, organized, disciplined, diplomatic, friendly, communicative, focused, creative, flexible, curious, and enthusiastic self-starter interested in a career of global health or not-for-profit work.
Experience:
Experience either working or volunteering in a capacity where you learned the art of customer service. Experience with international travel and visa acquisition or experience synthesizing and following complex bureaucratic instructions.
Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Skills:
- Project management: Proven track record setting goals, tracking progress, and providing updates till completion.
- Policy research and instruction: Ability to research and instruct others on how to follow policies i.e. visa requirements
- Strategic Harm Reduction: Understanding where there are opportunities for harm and proactively planning to reduce or avoid harm.
- Stress management: Ability to check in with oneself, see where they are, and appropriately decompress.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey nuanced information to various stakeholders, bridging numerous cultural and language barriers.
- Stakeholder engagement: Skill in building and maintaining relationships with community partners, government agencies, NGOs, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Problem-solving: Capacity to identify challenges, develop innovative solutions, and adapt strategies based on changing circumstances.
- Task consolidation and prioritization: Ability to sort and organize long to-do lists to maximize productivity and quality of work.
