The James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine, Medical University of South Carolina is seeking applications for a proven leader in Endodontics in the Department of Biomedical and Community Health Sciences, Division of Emergency Services. The Section of Endodontics provides classroom and clinical instruction for pre-doctoral dental students and Post-Graduate Endodontics Students in all areas of endodontics. The Endodontist will work collaboratively within all disciplines of the department and other departments of the College of Dental Medicine in a comprehensive care environment.
This leadership role includes serving as the Program Director for our Endodontics Residency Program. Based on qualifications and experience, an outstanding candidate may also be eligible and receive a title of an Endowed Professor. The Program Director role is responsible for all aspects of administering the Endodontics Residency Program, including but not limited to interviews and admissions of candidates, tracking residents’ progress in their programs of study, ensuring completion of their program requirements for graduation, clinical and didactic teaching, ensuring successful accreditation outcomes, and professional mentorship.
Our graduate program in endodontics is a 26-month program and admits up to three candidates each year. Residents are required to complete a Master of Science in Dentistry degree concurrently with their residency training. Qualified candidates must hold a DDS or DMD degree, have graduated from a CODA accredited Endodontic Residency program and hold current board certification.
Experience in educational innovation and use of technology in education and are expected with preference given to those with previous teaching and research experience. Successful applicants should have a South Carolina Dental License or qualify for a teaching license. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience.
