Job Purpose:Director of Call Me MISTER (CMM) oversees operations and strategic planning for the CMM program at the CofC, as well as new initiatives aimed at developing qualified and diverse candidates to serve in schools across the state.
Minimum Requirements:Master’s degree in education (or related field) is required, doctorate preferred. Minimum three years of teaching experience in public schools is required. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
- Experience working with students in a higher education environment
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to increase teacher diversity in SC’s preK-8 classrooms
- Ability to work effectively within a team setting
- Ability to manage fiscal and other resources efficiently
- Potential to manage student workers or temporary staff
Local and in-state travel expected.

Activity:Directs daily operations and campus vision of the CMM program to include developing and implementing recruitment, selection, retention, outreach, and alumni engagement activities. Work closely with the statewide network of CMM programs, prepares program reports for internal and external stakeholders, including Clemson University. Initiates and supports new programs designed to attract and retain minority students majoring in education.
