Interview First - Apply Later with California MENTOR, a member of the Sevita family, provides services for adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and other complex challenges, including autism spectrum disorders.
Program Director - Clinical
Annual Salary-$84,000, plus $2,000 sign-on bonus
Essential Job Functions: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below)
• Manages the day to day operations of one of our 10 programs with 10 to 30 individuals in a community or small geographic area. Provides case oversight for between 20 and 30 youth and families. Manages, hires, trains, and schedules staff.
• Provides clinical oversight and clinical direction to the treatment teams. Reviews and approves clinical documentation such as assessment, treatment plans, and progress notes.
• Responsible for the financial performance of individual programs; completes purchasing of program supplies; and reviews and submits billing compliance documentation.
• Implements program core growth strategy to maintain or increase census, maximizes utilization and occupancy percentages and assists with new start development as appropriate.
• Maintains and fosters relations with case managers and referral agents; lobbies on behalf of individuals receiving services and Network as appropriate.
• Maintains and fosters relations with individuals receiving services, families and guardians; implements individual's satisfaction enhancement plans as appropriate.
• Oversees program quality enhancement and develops individual program plans; coordinates Network standards, licensing requirements and individuals supported needs; reviews and submits incident reports.
• Implements program incident management protocols; ensures timely incident reporting and implementation of corrective action.
Schedules and participates in case consultations for high level incidents.
• Oversees program implementation of health and safety programs for individuals receiving services and employees.
• Maintains program compliance with Network and regulatory standards for clean, neat, safe living and working environments.
• Provides leadership including direct supervision of clinicians and paraprofessional staff; implements Network employee practices; implements program safety and workers' compensation programs; recommends and assists with involuntary terminations and written warnings; provides employee orientation and training.
• Maintains licensing and compliance for program services and supports; assures timely and accurate program documentation; implements Network compliance plan; reviews correction orders; and implements compliance plans.
• 24/7 crisis response availability
• Provides clinical oversight to the programs, clinicians and support staff. . This includes review and approval of all clinical documentation such as Progress Notes, Assessments, Treatment Plans, etc.
• Provides clinical supervision as needed (if 2 years post license), in addition to program supervision for all assigned staff.

Performs other related duties and activities as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directs and supervises staff including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training. Makes decisions on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions. Resolves employee problems within position responsibilities.
FCT Supervisor
FCT Supervisory staff will oversee the provision of Family Centered Treatment in a specified catchment area for up to 12 FCT Clinicians. FCT Supervisor will provide phase specific FCT individual/group supervision to FCT Clinicians as well as guide the FCT Team Supervision process. FCT Supervisor will utilize Situational Leadership to guide the provision of the supervision process to determine the appropriate amount and method of supervision provided. Supervisor, or designee, will be available 24/7/265 to FCT Clinicians to provide support for crises.
FCT Supervisor will oversee the training and certification of FCT Clinicians in the Family Centered Treatment® model. Supervisor will ensure that staff meet all requirements and deadlines outlined by the FCT Foundation for the provision of FCT. Supervisor will consult with Master Trainer regarding all staff certification and re-certification for staff. Supervisor, or designee will develop training plans as appropriate for staff. Supervisor will collaborate with assigned FCT Trainer around the assessment of training needs and develop a plan for meeting the training needs.
FCT Supervisor will provide oversight to ensure that all licensing requirements established by the FCT Foundation are adhered to. Examples include, but are not limited to, ensuring fidelity to the model with respect to dosage and fidelity documents, timeframes for staff certification in FCT, and maintaining at least 1 approved FCT Supervisor per site.
FCT Supervisor will oversee all referrals made to the FCT program. FCT Supervisor or designee will ensure that there is follow up with the referral source within 24 hours and assign a staff to meet the family face-to-face within 48 hours. FCT Supervisor will review and monitor caseload assignments for clinicians and assign new referrals accordingly.
FCT Supervisor or designee will ensure that all FCT Documentation is reviewed on a regular basis for compliance with FCT Fidelity as well as external rules and requirements.
FCT Supervisor will participate in community/stakeholder meetings. Supervisor will also engage in marketing activities to promote the company as well as the FCT Model.
FCT Supervisor will facilitate weekly team meetings/peer supervision process. The Team Meeting is designed as a peer supervision process to staff cases as well as a venue for information sharing, training, staff development, problem solving, accountability, and model fidelity adherence.
FCT Supervisor is charged with the hiring of FCT Clinicians. Supervisor will facilitate various formats of interviews for potential applicants which results in a Team Interview with the FCT Trainer and other FCT Clinicians for a consensus hiring practice.
FCT Supervisor will work in collaboration with assigned Consultant from FCT Foundation around areas of growth for the FCT Program.
Required Training for FCT Program Director-
  • The FCT Supervisor will complete all relevant training and make consistent progress toward achieving the FCT Supervisor Certification from Family Centered Treatment Foundation (FCTF). In addition to online-based training and required readings, the certification process requires videotaped demonstration of competencies in supervising FCT Clinicians.
  • Once certified, the FCT Supervisor will complete all activities necessary to maintain certification from FCTF including all recertification requirements every two years.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills required by the Job
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required to perform the job.
Education and Experience:
  • Master of Science or Master of Arts Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, or Psychology
  • State licensed or license eligible and registered and in good standing with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
  • Have at least two years of working with children, adolescents, and their families, and experience in working in home and community based settings.
  • Must be two years post license and maintain CEUs each renewal period that allow to clinically supervise.
    • New supervisors of all three professions (PCC, MFT, CSW) will need to complete 15 hours of initial supervisor training.
    • All supervisors of all three professions, regardless of when they began supervising, will need to take 6 hours of CE in supervision in each license renewal cycle.
    • BBS Forms to be completed: Supervisor Responsibility Statement and the Supervision Plan - are being combined into one and standardized across the professions. The new document is labeled a Supervision Agreement, and it sets forth the responsibilities of both the supervisor and the supervisee. It is required for all supervisees (trainees and associates) across all three professions.
