Position Type: Regular Part-Time (Non - Exempt)
Pay Range: $24.38 per hour.
About this opportunity: Plans, organizes, supervises and evaluates comprehensive supplemental education programs to include, but not limited to, After School Tutorial, Summer Day Camp, Annual College Tour, Music Program and other related educational programs for the members of The Salvation Army Lake Worth Corps.
Key responsibilities:
Provides support for all aspects of the Lake Worth Corps After-School, Tutoring, and Summer/Spring Day Camp Programs. Works in conjunction with Community Center Director to supplement and add resources to The Salvation Army educational programs; plans and implements special outreach activities for the community, networking with other agencies and churches as needed.
Assists with the schedules, supervision and training of after-school workers, summer day camp workers, tutoring staff, volunteers, and youth leaders ensuring appropriate conduct and performance of duties, as well as conducting periodic performance evaluations of support staff.
Assists Community Center Director with establishing and implementing a process for orienting new members to the programs of the community center.
Cultivates community support for The Salvation Army youth programs by conducting tours of the facilities and representing The Salvation Army when requested in speaking to groups and clubs; researches and presents new opportunities for community outreach and programs including funding aspects.
What we are looking for in you:
Bachelor's degree in education, Child Development, Christian Education, Ministry or related field
And
four years experience managing and supervising youth programs.
Or
any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
Ability to observe, coach and effectively manage and instruct youth and ensure their safety.
Ability to follow written Salvation Army guidelines and policy.
Ability to use good judgment in creating and implementing policy related to dealing with problematic issues where no established policy or procedures are in place.
Ability to remain and become certified for job specific certifications, licenses and trainings.
Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor recreational environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
