About the PositionThe Theatre and DanceProgram Coordinator serves as main point of contact for the department, providing academic support services for students, faculty and staff. The Program Coordinator independently and effectively advises undergraduate students by declaring majors/minors, completing graduation evaluations, and assisting students with class schedule management. The successful candidate will be responsible for course schedule input, department key management, scholarship processing, and creating a weekly newsletter to publicize departmental and university opportunities and information to department constituents. The Program Coordinator will represent the department to the broader community and be responsible for presentations and prospective student tours, as well as summer orientation, fall preview days and discovery days. The Theatre and DanceProgram Coordinator should have strong interpersonal skills, have a friendly demeanor and demonstrate a commitment to an inclusive and respectful community.
This position reports to the Department's Administrative Services Manager and works 37 hours per week, 10 months per year.
Required Qualifications- Associate degree, plus at least one year of clerical experience managing a front desk.
- Demonstrated academic advising experience.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate (oral and written) effectively, professionally and in a friendly manner.
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate positive relationships with students, faculty, staff and visitors from all backgrounds and social identities and a commitment to an inclusive and respectful community.
- Proven ability to effectively prioritize work, meet deadlines, manage multiple projects at once and work in an environment with frequent interruptions.
- Demonstrated ability speaking in public, giving effective presentations to large and small groups.
- Bachelor's degree in Theatre and Dance.
- Experience working in a higher education setting.
- Familiarity and experience with Banner and Degree Works.
- Experience creating a newsletter.
- Experience with Theatre and or Dance productions.
This position is 92.5% appointment. $3,414 - $4,568/month at 92.5% appointment depending on qualifications and experience. This is a 10 month cyclic position.
