ASSA ABLOY Door Group is adding a Frame Cell Production Lead to our Southeast Service Center in Orlando, Florida. We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our growing Production Team, where they will play a vital role in manufacturing hollow metal frames for the company’s Southeast Service Center.
What would you do as our Frame Cell Production Lead?
- Assist in overseeing and actively participate in all aspects of production, ensuring smooth operations.
- Focus on maximizing efficiencies and minimizing waste within the team and the production process.
- Ensure orders are completed accurately and on time to optimize customer satisfaction and on-time delivery.
- Maintain safety standards by ensuring all tools and equipment are safe to operate and undergo regular maintenance.
- Plan and schedule resources effectively to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Provide training to team members and ensure cross-training to enhance versatility and proficiency.
- Enforce compliance with state, federal, and OSHA regulations, as well as company standards and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.
- Implement quality control measures to uphold the manufacturing of top-quality products.
- Coach, mentor, and monitor team members within the work cell, providing guidance and support.
- Assign work to employees as needed and step in to fill any gaps.
- Manage inventory levels for necessary supplies and oversee material requisitions.
- Monitor and track production numbers to generate accurate daily reports.
- Familiarize myself with each functional job within the frame cell to provide comprehensive support.
- Demonstrate the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds individually.
- Maintain a high standard of quality workmanship while meeting production deadlines.
- Be flexible and available to work overtime as required to meet production demands.
The Skills and Experience you need:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous manufacturing experience required, preferably in a steel/metal environment such as tool and die, HVAC metal, or light gauge steel.
- Proficiency in basic geometry and math skills (decimals to fractions) necessary to understand complex instructions, prints, and designs.
- Ability to read blueprints and comprehend engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with grinding and welding techniques is advantageous.
- Knowledge of CNC processes is preferred.
- Experience with shear and break presses is a plus.
- Proficiency in performing multiple manufacturing processes while operating various equipment and machinery.
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams of 5 or more individuals in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in converting sheets of light gauge metal into various forms and shapes is desirable.
- Familiarity with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software is helpful.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands for this role involve standing and using hands and fingers to operate tools and a computer, as well as handling documents. Additionally, walking and hearing are regularly required, with occasional lifting, carrying, and moving of up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities necessary include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
