Sanitation Team Lead

This position is responsible for leading a team of sanitation technicians responsible for cleaning and sanitizing processing equipment and facility as per SSOP and requires an understanding of the CIP process for all manufacturing equipment. This position is responsible for leading, coaching, training the Sanitation Team, generating shift reports, reviewing sanitation and micro data trends and communicating with upper management.

• Must be able to maintain a high level of food safety and product quality through the cleaning and sanitizing of processing equipment and facility while following all safety protocols.
• Perform and delegate general facility sanitation as scheduled or needed including but not limited to cleaning of building walls, floors, drains, refuse removal, in all areas including batching, warehouse, production and shipping.
• Additional cleaning and sanitation duties as requested.
• Ability to read CIP/COP policies and procedures, adhere to them, and coach and train others on them
• Must be able to read, understand and follow facility's GMP and SOP.
• Must be able to work with cleaning agents and wear proper PPE.
• Must be able to understand and carry out the concept of chemical awareness (safe use and storage).
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule (including holidays) and overtime when needed. Develop and communicate Sanitation Team schedule.
• Responsible for completing, reviewing, and documenting assigned tasks as per Master Sanitation.
• Lead daily Sanitation Team meetings and sanitation trainings as needed. Display good communication skills and the ability to work as a team with co-workers and plant personnel. Communicate issues and solutions to shift leadership.
• Complete sanitation shift report and deliver to QA manager and shift leader/supervisor
• Reporting and understanding sanitation and microbiological KPI's
• Learn and assist in the blending process as needed.
• Learn and assist in the maintenance processes as needed.

Physical Requirements:

• Constantly required to stand, walk, traverse up and down stairs, stoop, lift up to 50lbs, kneel, and work in hot/wet conditions.
• Must be able to pull CIP rinse water, ATP, Micro samples that involves reaching, stretching, and bending frequently.
• Qualified or able to be trained and qualified to frequently operate a forklift, floor scrubber, scissor lift, pallet jack, production equipment or any other machinery needed to perform required tasks.
