TITLE: Production Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Manufacturing
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
Directs the activities of cell personnel to ensure products conform to engineering specifications and company policies, and achieve efficient economical production rates.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Thoroughly understand and adhere to Production goals, objectives, and strategies
Establish and maintain credibility throughout the organization as an effective leader of personnel and developer of solutions
Direct, plan, and coordinate multiple production areas to achieve cost, schedule, safety, quality, and productivity metrics
Utilize ERP/MRP system to effectively manage production orders
Proactively participate in and positively enforce all Lean Manufacturing initiatives
Responsible for the selection, performance, and optimal utilization of personnel by mentoring, coaching, and providing educational opportunities and administering the employee evaluation program
Responsible for the enforcement and maintenance of positive morale amongst employees within scope of responsibility
Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced employees
Maintain time and attendance records for reports within scope of responsibility
Maintain records of departmental activities as required and analyze data to support issue resolution or process improvement
Ensures the safety of employees by recognizing hazards and participating in safety issue resolution
Provides leadership, management, and motivation to attain high levels of employee achievement and retention
QUALIFICATIONS:
3 years of experience working in a machining / manufacturing environment required
2 years of experience supervising personnel preferred or equivalent
High analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
Flexible, energetic, forward-thinking, and creative with high moral and ethical standards
Well organized and self-directed
Able to relate to people at all levels of the organization in a positive fashion
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Working knowledge of computer applications
Good machining background
PHYSICAL AND PPE REQUIREMENTS:

Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance
Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
Must comply with safety equipment standards; safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed shoes
TRAVEL:
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected
