Production Supervisor
Matrix designs, manufactures, and sells innovative technological products that help keep people safe. Originally focused on the underground coal mining industry, Matrix has expanded into new industrial markets in the United States and globally.
We are currently seeking a Production Supervisor. This position works in a team environment at our home office in Newburgh, IN. This is not a remote position. The Production Supervisor will oversee the production process and coordinate all activities to ensure resources are on hand to assemble products according to quality standards in a timely manner.
This position reports to the VP of Manufacturing.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise and work alongside a small to medium size team of production staff.
Set in order the production staff priorities while minimizing schedule changes.
Provide appropriate training for the production staff and ensure records are maintained.
Ensure work instructions are accurate and in place for the production staff.
Encourage, promote, and participate in Matrix's continuous improvement and lean initiatives.
Participate and support the nonconforming materials process as a key member of the materials review team.
Ensure that products meet Matrix's quality standards.
Supervise and evaluate performance of production personnel.
Enforce the best safety practices.
Track labor/material costs and communicate those to upper management.
Update departmental key performance metrics on a routine basis.
Is responsible for the effective use of personnel, materials, and equipment.
Support the company's ISO/IEC80079-34 initiatives.
Qualifications & Competencies
Proficient in Microsoft Products software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience in reporting on key production metrics.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Experience in continuous improvement, lean concepts, or kaizen.
Understanding of quality standards and safety regulations.
Proficient in Microsoft products software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience in working with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or NetSuite.
Working Conditions
The working conditions for this job are within a climate-controlled building. The noise levels most times are nominal.
Physical Requirements
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, or crouch. There may be long periods of time when the employee needs to sit. The employee may need to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
