General Summary:
Responsible for designing and conducting experiments toward the development or improvement of custom polymer compounds. Responsible for developing a testing plan, and procedure, data analysis, and communication of results. Three plus years direct, relevant experience with the ability to operate with little to no direction.
Essential duties and Responsibilities:

Develops with minimal guidance products adhering to customer specifications, quality, and operational goals and standards.
Conducts or actively participates in materials testing to facilitate scale up to production.
Contribute to product platform development through application of statistical experimental design, product testing, and data analysis.
Identify material and other functional specifications to meet customer requirements.
Supports marketing and sales through development of product and application data.
Ability to serve as technical resource to other team members.
Coordinates with manufacturing partners to establish quality and testing conditions for new materials.
Education and Experience:
* High School diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree Preferred
* A working knowledge of color theory and at least 3 years' experience matching color in a lab or manufacturing environment
* Previous Experience with automated color systems e.g. X-Rite/Data Color
* Ability to differentiate color nuances by eye.
* Knowledge of the Pantone System would be an advantage
Additional Qualifications:
* Previous knowledge and experience in color matching applications an advantage
* The position requires the ability to work with a personal computer in a Windows environment. Requires proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
* Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English; read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and product recipes/material identifications.
* Must have math skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide and the ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
* Must be able to effectively communicate one-on-one and in small group situations.
