GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY
Supervises production employees in a designated area and is responsible for the maintenance of good employee relations together with discipline, safety and general supervision of employees. Position is accountable for specified quantity, quality and cost of product within material specifications and labor standards. In addition, the ability to support and understand technical diagnoses of the process and equipment manufacturing the components.

CLIMATE
This person works in a fast paced environment and must be able to make quick decisions in order to maximize production while maintaining focus on safety and quality to meet customer expectations. The nature of the product mix for all operations may cause changing priorities frequently.
DUTIES
- Developing and supervising direct reports
STANDARDS
- Identifies developmental needs for each employee.
- Trains, coaches and orients new and current employees on departmental procedures for ISO-9000. Observe compliance with these standards. Monitors and audits job enhancement progress.
- Assigns daily work, evaluates performance, facilitates teamwork, coaches, counsels and disciplines employees. Provide reinforcement and positive relationship building.
- Production Scheduling
- Determines labor needs based on departmental production requirements and assigns workstation rotations.

- Ability to time study, understand constraints in the process vs. standards and be an integral part of Engineering to provide and implement solution.
- Ability to identify mechanical issues or failures and provide support and solutions to fixes

- Ensure departmental meetings and other means are utilized to communicate changes or updates to employees regarding business requirements, safety, policies, procedures and practices.
- Enforce plant policies, procedures and practices by consistently and formally coaching and counseling employees when violations occur.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- The job works in conditions with constant exposure (80% or more) to noise, odors, dust, drafts, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc. Long periods of walking and standing are required.
