The Production Supervisor position is responsible for supervising hourly employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

The Build (Responsibilities)
- Leads and directs day-to-day responsibilities of work, scheduling, quality, safety for all 2nd and third shift employees. Interfacing with other supervisors and managers as needed to meet the production schedule; occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
- Liaison between the needs of the production employees and senior leadership team. Including driving a safety culture, increasing accountability and training, and innovation and change.
- Effectively navigate employee relation issues, working with union representatives and human resources.
- Provide employee coaching and development, resolve employee issues and grievances through problem resolution, track absenteeism and timekeeping.
- Develop and implement manufacturing methods, quality standards, and perform cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.
- Develops and maintains long range strategies inclusive of capital selection, justification and acquisitions.
- Identifies and directs implementation of improvement opportunities by securing relevant information, asking effective questions, and developing solutions. Advocates for change and growth.
- Resolves problems relating to materials, operations, quality or other factors that may result in production delays.
- Interact with applicable engineering staff on piece part design, process development and improvement.
- Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Work to continuously improve in all areas.
- Lead and direct departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
The Toolbox (Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or In lieu of 8-10 years of relative experience required
- 7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Leadership experience required including performance management and time management
- Strong problem solving/analysis skills required
- Results driven mindset required, with the ability to influence innovation and change
- Strong communication skills
