Basic Purpose of Position: The Technical Trainer’s primary role is to improve the technical skills within our production workforce by conducting training essential to the performance of our facility. This type of training includes through-hole soldering, fine pitch soldering, point to point wiring, adhesive bonding, conformal coating, circuit card rework, circuit card repair and other technical skill based training. The training is for new operators coming into the manufacturing area, as well as any on-going training needs.


Primary or Major Responsibilities:

  • Ensures compliance with site Quality, Security/ITAR and Safety Standards, Operating Instructions (“OI’s”) and Work Instructions (“WI’s”).
  • Plans, develops, implements and executes technical training programs for production employees.
  • Obtains information from Manufacturing Supervisors, Engineering and Quality to identify training needs.
  • Investigate, problem solve and implement training solutions to reduce scrap, downtime and throughput issues.
  • Maintains accurate & complete training records for IPC Certifications as well as any classroom training provided.
  • Maintains an accurate schedule for any required IPC recertification for employees ensuring there are no lapses in training requirements.
  • Prepares lesson plans and training materials to address the needs.
  • Conduct training on the production floor solving manufacturing issues in real time.
  • Cross train production operators as required.
  • Create/maintain a database and reports to track class attendance and program certifications.
  • Create and maintain training documentation, and, as appropriate, input or submit for input into training management systems.
  • Develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities.
  • Assure ESD and FOD requirements are followed while training operators.
  • Supports other areas of the facility such as Production or Quality (or elsewhere) when not supporting training needs.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • This position reports to work onsite -this is not a remote position!
  • Must be ITAR Compliant All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • High school graduate or equivalent; Associates Degree preferred
  • 3 – 5 years direct experience, preferably in a like manufacturing environment
  • Possess strong facilitation skills
  • J-STD-001, IPC 610 and IPC 620 Certifications required
  • IPC Trainer Certification in J-STD-001, IPC 610 and IPC 620 strongly preferred
  • Must be able to solder and inspect soldering.
  • Demonstrated advanced technical expertise during the delivery of training
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience with Microsoft AX a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative, commitment to deadlines
  • Team player with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
  • Must be quality conscious and possess ability to meet production and quality standards.
  • Must maintain ESD Precautions Standards certification in areas/facilities where required.
