Supervisory Description:
Directly supervise production workers and support staff. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include input into interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving personnel issues. Verifies product quality is in conformance with company specifications, HACCP/CTS guidelines, and quality standards; confirms that all documentation and records are completely and properly filled out and processed. Ensures that the product is processed under safe and sanitary conditions. Responsibilities also include the attainment of budgetary levels throughout the process; identifying and communicating losses in area of responsibility; supporting the implementation of new products, processes, or equipment; and promoting changes in current standards through employee training and feedback. Other duties may be assigned as needed. May be assigned to work alternate shifts based on needs.
1) Review and download pertinent information with other supervisors and manager i.e. mechanical issues, personnel needs etc.
2) Interpret company policies to workers and enforce hygiene and safety regulations
3) Coordinate classroom and on-the-job training for new and transferred employees
4) Conduct training in new procedures, OSHA mandated compliance programs etc.
5) Maintain time and production records
6) Estimate and inspect materials needed to complete job tasks
7) Review production schedule and estimate worker requirements for completion
8) Interpret specifications and job orders to employees and assign duties as required
9) Direct the setup and adjustment of machinery
10) Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules
11) Identify and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and the quality of the product
12) Direct changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the work crew
13) Analyze and resolve work problems and assist employees in solving work problems
14) Inspect product to verify conformance to specifications and assume responsibility for the Quality System requirements.
15) Facilitates work group and plant safety meetings
16) Participate in internal and external audits, inspections and visits
17) Ensure compliance to all plant safety programs, policies, and procedures, and ensure employee’s compliance to safety.
18) Execute special orders.
19) Must adhere to all GMP and Food Safety Policies and Practices
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university preferred; two to three years related experience and/or training in high paced, high quality food industry preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer proficiency is required in the following: Kronos time and attendance, SAP, Windows based software applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), SPC preferred.
- Capable to deliver presentations and training to various audiences.

1) 9-12 Hour shift. Flexibility to work other schedules and shifts as required. Overtime is required.
2) Environment – Work divided between office and plant environment. While in the plant noise levels will be minimal to moderate and temperature will be controlled. Lighting is sufficient. There is a possibility of slippery footing and dust from dry ingredients.
