Precision Metal Products Inc. Is seeking a motivated and self-driven Production Supervisor who will thrive in a dynamic and hands-on position. As the Production Supervisor you will play a crucial role in ensuring that production throughout the facility stays efficient and meets the production goals that are set in the schedule. Success as the Production Supervisor will come with active leadership, attention to detail, and clear communication as you collaborate with all departments to achieve not only daily production targets, but high-quality products with on-time delivery to our customers!
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership
● First and foremost, provide leadership that promotes communication, trust and accountability.
● Build and foster a constructive relationship with employees that encourages them to be an integral part of the team regardless of their title or position.
● Evaluate and work with employees in a positive nature to help them grow in their position.
2. Operations
● Must show drive and effort to learn and familiarize themselves with all departments to properly understand the intricacies of each job/department and how it can affect the outcome of the products and delivery.
● Daily review of schedule with Production office to stay current on hot production items or customer changes.
● Daily meeting with all department Managers/leads to understand challenges that may arise in a given day.
● If there are obstacles such as breakdowns, or attendance issues that could affect the production schedule, it will need to be evaluated and discussed as necessary.
● It is the responsibility of the Production Supervisor to be the connecting link and collaborate with all departments to promote and foster a team atmosphere on the production floor; and ultimately meet the production goals.
● This is truly a hands-on supervisor position. The Production Supervisor must be willing to assist all employees with tasks in order to be as efficient as possible. This will also establish and promote teamwork at all levels.
● If extra hours are needed to complete a production run, it is the responsibility of the Production Supervisor to communicate with the Production Office and Plant Management to establish a plan. In this position, you will be expected to go above and beyond to ensure product ships on time.
3. Safety
● As a supervisor it is critical to understand and be able to identify safety issues throughout the facility. Formal OSHA training is a plus.
● Once issues are identified, it is critical to communicate the urgency of the situation with Plant Management so all parties involved can make the proper decision.
● Must be able to identify and enforce safety protocol for individuals and the PPE that is required to keep them safe in their job. I.E- safety glasses, ear plugs, machine safety, etc.
4. Qualifications
● Basic knowledge of punch presses and metal stamping
● Basic knowledge of progressive stamping
● Basic understanding of OSHA and general safety standards
● Detail-oriented
● Strong and clear communication skills
● Basic computer skills will be needed in order to assist with work instructions, documentation, and schedule review
● Dedication and responsibly
● Schedule flexibility if extra time is needed-shouldn’t be often but it can happen.
● Good attendance and positive attitude is a MUST!
● Must be able to work 5:30am-4pm Mon-Fri. 1/2 day Saturdays be added if there was production problems that could not rearranged
