Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a PrincipalProduction Planner/ MRP Analyst to join the Test and Assembly team, at our Design, Integration, and Test facility located at the Navy Yard in Philadelphia, PA.
The PrincipalProduction Planner/ MRP Analyst position will be responsible for supporting the Manufacturing Operation by performing activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including production planning and control, MRP, systems and manufacturing management, equipment and facilities engineering, material management, and process reengineering. This position will report directly to the Northrop Grumman Philadelphia Site Manager. The role will have hands-on manufacturing responsibilities, spending approximately 25% of the time or more on the factory floor with hours that may span multiple shifts.
What You'll Get to Do:
- Conduct analyses and perform diagnostics on product structure by ensuring the following are defined correctly in SAP: make/buy, lead times, commodity codes, as-required material call outs, shelf life, lot sizing, etc. Support regular reviews with all programs to ensure proper materials are arriving on-time to the schedule and demands are correct in the system.
- Work closely with Global Supply Chain (GSC) buyers and program planners, as well as Operations Program Managers (OPM), Manufacturing Engineers, and Shipping/ Receiving to ensure all SAP transactions for direct material purchase are correct and up-to-date including Purchase Requests, Purchase Orders, Production Orders, Parts Issuing, and Final Product Structure completion and close-out.
- Enhance material flow and control through the various production areas, including the kitting of parts to the floor just-in-time for the jobs. Establish enhanced kitting program and identify shortages to the kits; follow-up with GSC to ensure delivery commitments support.
- Ensure 5S practices are implemented in all material storage locations and throughout the production floor.
- Load requirements into SAP for direct material purchase including individual parts as well as full product structures.
- Interact with internal customers and cross-functional teams with respect to product planning, problem resolution, and process improvement.
- Support coordination for sending product or components to external customers or suppliers as required in the product structure.
- May facilitate self-directed work teams, provide training in core skill SAP areas to teams.
The ideal candidate will be able to work individually as well as collaborate with a diverse group of individuals, work tactically, but with an eye towards future strategy, and exhibit solid communication skills with internal management personnel and clients.
He/she will be proficient in extracting data from SAP to Microsoft Excel and using Macros and Advanced Formulas to analyze data.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree plus 6+ years of relevant experience; will consider an additional 4+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a bachelors
- Experience in SAP and/or similar MRP planning system
- Experience in Production Control
- Experienced in one or more areas of manufacturing operations
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expert Level fluency in SAP or similar MRP planning system
- Fluency in MS Office Tools
- Active Secret Security Clearance
Salary Range: $88,700.00 - $133,100.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
