Oberg Industries, leading manufacturer of Metal Stamping products and services for a variety of industries, including aerospace, automotive, medical and energy is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Production Planner to join our dynamic team.  As a key member of our operations, the Senior Production Planner will play a critical role in optimizing production schedules, ensuring efficient resource allocation, and contributing to the overall success of our organization.  The Senior Production Planner will work on-site at our Oberg Medical facility located in Sarver, PA.  This is daylight position working Monday thru Friday.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the ERP system to plan and schedule customer demand across various work centers on the shop floor.   
  • Collaborate with production leads and supervisors to overcome manufacturing delays affecting on-time delivery.
  • Assist Production Planning Supervisor in development and implementation of new/improved production control systems and procedures.
  • Pull data from ERP system to create reports showing job statuses for interdepartmental meetings.  Based on those reports, determine what needs to be escalated, pushed or highlighted during meetings.
  • Work directly with Customer Success Manager to assist in completing customer open order reports, deliverable metrics, etc.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing department to ensure material deliveries are aligned to support the production schedule.
  • Analyze operational schedules and ERP data, presenting identified issues and potential solutions to the Production Planning Supervisor.
  • Organize the closure of production orders and address any associated error messages.
  • Act as a backup for the Production Planning Supervisor when necessary.
  • Engage directly with the shop floor departments and leads when scheduling to provide an accurate and obtainable schedule.
  • Work closely with the Configuration Management department to set up items on projects in the MRP software, updating bill of materials and routes as required.

 

Qualifications/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in production and/or planning within formal ERP system required.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in MRP & Master Planning required.
  • Advanced understanding of MRP, Master Planning and Scheduling concepts and processes within ERP system.
  • Technical understanding of machining/assembly manufacturing process.
  • Strong Excel skills preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate through written, verbal, or other means of communication.
  • Must be able to understand written correspondence.
  • Must have a working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Windows, Excel and Word.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or be able to comply with U.S. export regulations. 
  • Must be able to wear personal protection equipment, such as earplugs, safety glasses, and safety shoes.
