Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Cannabis Manufacturing Production Planner. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing production plans to ensure efficient and timely manufacturing of cannabis products. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen understanding of the cannabis production process.
Responsibilities:
- Production Planning:
- Develop and maintain production schedules to meet market demand while optimizing resource utilization.
- Collaborate with various departments, including cultivation, extraction, and packaging, to gather information and align production plans with overall business goals.
- Provide work orders to production lines.
- Monitor inventory levels and production capacity to ensure seamless workflow.
- Forecasting:
- Utilize historical sales data and market trends to accurately forecast product demand.
- Work closely with sales and marketing teams to gather information on promotions, new product launches, and other factors that may impact production volumes.
- Resource Allocation:
- Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure the availability of raw materials and supplies needed for production.
- Optimize the allocation of labor, equipment, and facilities to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Communication:
- Act as a liaison between different departments to convey production plans, timelines, and any changes to the schedule.
- Provide regular updates to management on production performance, highlighting any potential issues or areas for improvement.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the production workflow.
- Implement and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of production planning processes.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that production plans comply with all relevant regulations and quality standards in the cannabis industry.
- Stay informed about changes in regulations that may impact production planning processes.
- Other duties and responsibilities
- 3 or more years planning/scheduling experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of production workflow, throughputs, etc.
- Strong Excel skills including experience in data tables, lookup functions, and applicable formulas to maintain and summarize production data.
- Bachelor's degree in business, operations management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the cannabis industry.
- Proficiency in using production planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
