Production Material Scheduler/Planner

Material/production planner is to manage inventories and ensure that material resources are consistent with production schedules. The planner's responsibilities include determining material specifications, creating and maintaining inventory and production schedules, coordinating with internal departments.
Material/Production Planner Responsibilities:

• Determining the required materials and generating purchase orders.
• Ensuring materials meet specifications, quality standards, and are cost-efficient.
• Ensuring the consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for production.
• Coordinating with other departments regarding production goals, timelines, supplier payments, etc.
• Tracking production volume and monitoring customer demand patterns and purchasing trends.
• Scheduling and overseeing the supply and delivery of materials and products.
• Liaising with customers, suppliers, and distributors.
• Managing inventory issues, schedule changes, and cancellations.
• Preparing cost estimates and performance reports.
• Plan and manage production schedules to ensure 100% on-time delivery of customer orders.
• Analyze sales order releases with respect to capacity planning and material requirements.
• Release work orders in ERP system.
• Maintain an active knowledge of all work in process (WIP) to ensure timely completion.
• Revise and reschedule work orders to compensate for rush order priorities, material shortages, vendors' failure to deliver or customer cancellations.
• Cycle Counts
• Scrap Control
• Monitor progress, complete and close work orders, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Interface with manufacturing personnel, purchasing personnel, etc. on material status and production planning issues.
• This job will require floor time on the Production floor.

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Degree in business, logistics, inventory management, or a related field preferred.
• 2 years of experience in material planning, inventory management, purchasing, or a related position.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain management.
• Familiarity with ERP system function and logic.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and material management systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must have experience in Automotive Production
