Job Description
Rochester Midland Corporation is seeking a highly motivated Production Planner located in Aurora, Illinois. The Production Planner plans and issues daily production schedule, based on MRP plan, reviews new demand against Production Schedule on a daily basis and makes suggestions in regard to expediting production to meet customer needs. This position also reviews and makes changes to forecasts and planning attributes while working closely with Marketing and Sales Executives, Purchasing, and Accounting. Manages and releases on hand inventory for direct customer and internal shipments. Office and manufacturing floor environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Review and adjust MRP planning parameters
- Schedule production from daily MRP run
- Order of silk screening of bottles to meet needs of weekly production
- Schedule transfers of one container size into various other sizes of packaging
- Maintain proper inventory levels of finished products in warehouse
- Direct production daily meetings
- Provides internal customer support for product availability
- Review Internal orders (make decision as to hold or ship)
- Review shortages and provide availability dates on direct ship customer orders, communicate this information back to office staff to notify CSR’s
- Order internal truck loads
- Work closely with distribution centers on maintaining correct reorder points
- Work closely with slow moving inventory team on TBD’s and slow-moving inventory
- Maintain and create performance matrix
EDUCATION/ SPECIAL LICENSES OR CERTIFICATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business with computer emphasis or equivalent in training and experience
- Knowledge of and experience in fully integrated ERP system software.
- MRP and Inventory Management experience.
- Certification as member of American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) a plus.
EXPERIENCE:
- Five years to include prior inventory and production control experience or training, preferably in a manufacturing operation with an MRP environment
- Inventory, warehouse, and distribution management experience
