Production Manager

Production Manager - Directs the activities of a specific production department efficiently to produce the desired quality and quantity of work. Directs the work of production supervisors and group leaders within the department.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the activities of Production Supervisors, Group Leaders, and Production Associates.
• Oversee and assist the production supervisor and production schedulers in establishing work schedules and following through to completion.
• Observe work to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.
• Develop or implement production tracking or quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, or other operational reports to detect production problems.
• Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
• Prepare and maintain production reports and other paperwork as needed.
• Initiate or coordinate inventory or cost control programs.
• Conduct training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures or assign training to experienced workers.
• Oversee and monitor employees' attendance and hours worked.
• Interview, train, evaluate, or discharge staff or resolve personnel grievances.
• Participate in ongoing performance management, including but not limited to evaluations, recommendations of wage increases, and necessary corrective action.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, 5S practices, and regulatory and customer requirements.
• Authorities for an employee are granted using work instructions, policies and procedures, and/or direction provided by management to meet the requirements of the customer

Education:

• High School Education or GED

Experience:

• One to three years of supervisor-related experience

Other:

• Excellent interpersonal skills.
