POSITION:Production Manager
LOCATION:Sugar Land, Texas / Smart Financial Centre
HOURS:Full Time, including evenings, weekends & holidays
COMPENSATION: $55,000 - $65,000, Commensurate with experience
ABOUT THE POSITION
The Production Manager reports to the Director of Events and is primarily responsible for ensuring the success of show and event productions by managing the technical and financial aspects related to the show(s) production.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Primary contact to advance all event production needs and setups
- Generate event CAD(s) to support the ticket office in generating on-sale maps and production kills, and building operations for thrust builds, GA Pit conversion, and chair sets
- Develop and execute a plan to fulfill riders, advances, labor calls, and equipment for events.
- Develop and disseminate event notes/event outlines for assigned events at least 7-days prior to event.
- Facilitate venue readiness during load-ins, show, load-out, and special event services.
- Oversee and troubleshoot during event load-in and load out of the show, ensuring the production needs are met for artists/producers/promoters, clients and patrons.
- Manage production crew by interfacing and making production arrangements with local labor vendors
- Produce events while maintaining a high degree of public safety in line with all life safety codes.
- Manage costs to show budgets and process vendor invoices
- Maintain familiarity with production systems utilized
- Work with all departments as needed to maintain technical and event related equipment in the venue.
EXPERIENCE and SKILLS
- Demonstrated knowledge of Event Production and Event Management preferably in a sports/entertainment environment.
- Knowledge of stage-related activities, such as stage management, rigging, audio, video, lighting, carpentry, touring special effects required.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite; experience with AutoCAD preferred.
- Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to function and make management decisions in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.
- Should be able to assist in lifting/moving materials up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to climb stairs regularly, occasionally work on a theatre grid and on catwalks above the ceiling.
- Understand and be capable of ensuring that all laws, building codes, ordinances, policies, procedures, risk management and emergency procedures are followed.
- Must be able to hear and speak to use a two-way radio
- Must have the ability and willingness to work flexible hours including days, nights, late hours, weekends, and holidays.
