Position: Production Manager
Location: Westminster, MD
Shift: 1st shift (6:00am - 2:30pm; Monday - Friday)
Direct Hire/Permanent Position
Overview/Summary:
Responsible for planning and assigning work, implementing policies and procedures, and recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
Job Description for the Production Manager position:
- Ensure effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching and development.
- Resolve employee issues through problem resolution
- Establish and maintain schedules for production
- Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.
- Ensure products meet customer requirements
- Consult with Engineering staff to correct defective products and/ or processes
- Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager
- Maintain proper inventory levels and department priorities
- Track absenteeism and timekeeping
- Maintain a positive work environment by behaving and communicating in a professional, courteous, respectful, ethical manner with customers, clients, co-workers, and supervisors
- Demonstrates leadership through daily interaction
- Participate and define continuous improvement projects to improve efficiency in production
Job Requirements for the Production Manager:
- BS in engineering or 10 years’ experience in manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of Word and Excel
- AS9100 background
- All candidates must be a US Citizen
