We are currently accepting applications for Production & Quality Supervisors at our new state-of-the-art production facility in Milton, WI, conveniently located north of Janesville. This is an exempt position working 12-14 hours on nights, 3-4 days per week, Sunday-Tuesday and every other Saturday OR Wednesday-Friday and every other Saturday.

JOB SUMMARY: The Production/Quality Supervisor organizes, coordinates, and communicates all day-to-day operational activities and ensures the efficient start up and shut down of the facility. The Production/Quality Supervisor will ensure that all jobs are performed following all company, safety and Quality policies while maintaining high productivity. The Production/Quality Supervisor is also responsible for providing leadership, coaching, corrective action, and reviewing employee's performance fairly and consistently.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

PRODUCTION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws for all direct reports. Responsibilities include planning, assigning and directing work, coaching, appraising performance, training, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
  • Responsible for the overall safety of employees through training programs, plant security and equipment safety.
  • Responsible for improving working conditions, throughput, morale, quality of product, and production efficiencies.
  • Responsible for the safety and productivity of people
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the plant, maintains the Master Cleaning Schedule and follows up on all operational FSA’s, etc.
  • Responsible for the scheduling and inspection of all changeovers and Yellow Zone Cleanings.
  • Responsible for the locked cabinet inventory of assigned equipment for the plant.
  • Inspect products to verify that all products are produced within specifications using the predetermined quality parameters.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of all quality and production documents.
  • Responsible for OEE tracker at the end of shift and its accuracy to include good details with next step resolutions when necessary.
  • Responsible for ensuring all finished WMS orders are closed, have initials, and have correct consumptions against them.
  • Analyze and resolves work problems or assist workers in solving production related issues.
  • Responsible for monitoring, tracking, and minimizing waste in the plant.
  • Responsible for continuous improvements assignments.
  • Interprets company policies and regulations to administer coaching, corrective action, and training through the certification process.
  • Coordinating, monitoring, and tracking all training and keeping the training spreadsheet up to date.
  • Responsible for the mentoring, re-training, and monitoring of all fully trained crew members.
  • Responsible for the mentoring, training, and monitoring of Senior Technicians, to include spot checking all production paperwork.
  • Coordinate activities between shifts and ensure timely startups and shutdowns of the production processes.
  • Updates the schedule at or near the end of their shift.
  • Responsible for adding all notes to the schedule.
  • Responsible for releasing all NAV orders and or creating new orders for fix it issues.
  • Performs walk-throughs with oncoming supervisor.
  • Looking 48 to 72 hours into the schedule and checking for equipment/materials that will be needed and ensuring that they are available.
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork and documents, including standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
  • Updating once per year the SOP’s you are assigned, and sending out pertinent FYI’s associated with any changes.
  • Work with Procurement, Logistics, and Customer Service to ensure ingredients and finished products are received and shipped as scheduled.
  • Responsible for coordinating and monitoring the receiving and shipping department.
  • Waste removal.
  • Manage the finished goods warehouse.
  • Responsible for the inventory cycle counts.
  • Communicate day-to-day activities and follow-up on daily correspondences.
  • Monitoring the schedule for any changes that may need to be made and for contacting management with what your plan is going forward.
  • Responsibility to the Crew.
  • Responsible for all payroll and time/attendance activities.
  • Responsible for all personnel or performance issues.
  • Responsible for the monthly crew schedule.
  • Responsible for the Training schedule (who’s training and who’s next).
  • Responsible for Semi-Annual reviews for all crew members.
  • Responsible for directing all employees in an emergency situation.
  • Main point of contact with R&D for trials, all trial preparation, communications to management and crews, and post-trial follow ups.
  • Perform all tasks assigned by the Production Superintendent, while following all company, safety, and Quality policies and procedures
  • Responsible for completing all tasks passed down from management in a timely manner or addressed before the end of the current work cycle.
  • Travel to training and/or other CQC facilities.
  • Requires extensive use of the computer to include: Excel Spreadsheets, Word, Warehouse Management System, ERP System, Internet Applications / Programs

QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain regulatory compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and execute continuous improvement upgrades to the quality systems and programs.
  • Actively monitor the production floor for compliance to quality systems and programs with an emphasis on identifying gaps between the production floor practices and the quality systems and programs.
  • Conduct product clearance reviews and issue product releases for both ingredients and finished products.
  • Participate on Facility Food Defense Team and HACCP Meetings.
  • Conduct internal Quality and Food Safety training.
  • Conduct internal audits (Food Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices [GMP’s], Sanitation, etc.)
  • Control non-conforming product according to company policy.
  • Coordinate collection of product samples and equipment/environmental swabs.
  • Coordinate investigation and response into out of specification product and environmental swabs.
  • Review, enter, and file production/quality related documents.
  • Prepare Certificates of Analysis for customer shipments.
  • Maintain regular attendance at work.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of related manufacturing experience or equivalent training. Experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Previous experience with quality systems is preferred.
  • Previous supervisory and/or scheduling experience is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems, Inventory Control Systems, and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) would be helpful.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
