Director Quality & Product Safety - Bionutrients

We are looking for a Director of Quality & Product Safety for our Juneau facility reporting to the General Manager of BioNutrients. 

What you will do:

You will lead all aspects of quality assurance and quality control:

• Accountable for executing the specified quality and business strategic initiatives; accountable for performance and results of the quality function across the Business Unit.
• Drives culture to conduct Formal Root Cause Analyses, conduct risk assessments, manage customer complaints, and ensures implementation of Corrective Actions
• Leading the teams that review and write all specifications for all finished products and for incoming raw materials to meet the performance and regulatory needs of our manufacturing processes, regulatory bodies and ultimately our end customers. 
• Leading the quality assurance team ensuring the plant is "audit ready" every day; managing the customer complaint process and fixing root cause of issues; monitoring the plant for environmental contamination issues; and working with the production teams to address any areas of concern.
• Leading the quality control team testing and passing of all incoming raw materials and finished products, and establishing test methods to ensure all raw materials and finished products meet all food safety and quality standards.

You will take the department to the next level:

• Creating, implementing, or maintaining the policies, standards required to consistently comply with the regulatory, and food safety standards necessary for complete customer satisfaction. 
• Establishing and implementing metrics (process capability, quality measurements, etc.) for monitoring system effectiveness and to enable managers to make sound product quality decisions. 
• Championing the education and training of employees as to their impact in the quality management system and driving continuous improvement efforts to raise the performance of the facilities' product lines. 

You will bring:

• Knowledge of existing quality policies, standards, and regulations and keeping up with changes in food ingredient and flavor regulations, and/or specialty chemicals throughout the world. 
• Ability to interpret, apply, and relay quality and regulatory information and analytical data to customers and other business units, and to react quickly to customer needs and to re-evaluate priorities, make decisions and take actions to meet the customer needs, and drive quality and process improvements. 
• A strategic mindset and hands-on approach working closely with customers and teams in the shop floor helping to identify and solve issues, implementing and leading from the work floor.
• In-depth knowledge and experience in GFSI certification and quality improvement methodology. Monitors all customer and government agency audits.
• Ideally, 8-10 years of Quality/Regulatory and technical service, and some team management experience
