TITLE: Product Manager
LOCATION: New York City (hybrid) or Fully Remote in the United States
SALARY: $110,000 - $130,000 (based on NYC, will be adjusted for geo)
The Role:
Combine your technical know-how and client-centric mindset to design, build and release new products and features to meet the growing needs of our clients. As a Product Manager on the team, you’ll play a key role in taking Canoe’s transformative technology to the next level. This is an opportunity to lead large product initiatives and help to shape the overall product strategy and vision for a fast-growing, dynamic financial technology company.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead discovery and design of new/enhanced product features related to document collection and document ingestion
- Establish detailed business requirements and product specifications including use cases, wireframes, and mockups where applicable
- Work closely with engineers and QA to manage the software development process and achieve excellence in project execution
- Keep stakeholders informed and engaged in project progress as well as risks
- Contribute to Canoe’s product strategy and roadmap priorities by gathering feedback from clients, internal teams, and competitive market research.
- Author product release communications, knowledge guides and various other materials for stakeholder management and reporting
- Use data and tooling to analyze, monitor, and report on user engagement metrics
- Collaborate with Operations to improve internal processes related to document collection
- Collaborate with Client Success, Sales and other functional teams across the organization to deepen understanding of client use cases and drive key product decisions
What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years experience as a Product Manager, Product Owner, Business Analyst or similar in the private markets technology field.
- Proven experience in an agile software development environment, specifically with writing comprehensive user stories and conducting efficient backlog refinement sessions
- Proven experience working within a fast-paced software development environment on complex projects
- Strong work ethic, demonstrated acute attention to detail, excellent time management, and exceptional organizational skills
- Deadline oriented and a proven ability to self-manage in a remote/hybrid work setting
- Both a strong collaborative team player and focused individual contributor
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor degree, or equivalent work experience
Preferred - Experience in a demanding B2B fintech SaaS startup environment
- Experience working with integrations and large complex data sets
- Experience working within the alternatives investment space
- Comfortable with ambiguity and uncovering answers to complex product development questions
- Familiarity with Jira or similar project management tools and Confluence or similar collaborative documentation tools
- Experience with Figma or similar prototyping tools such as InVision, Illustrator, Photoshop, or Balsamiq
