Job Title: Product Manager - PAPR & SCBA
Location: Remote, with yearly travel 10-15%
Business Unit: Avon Protection
Purpose of Position:
The Global Product Manager is responsible for managing the assigned product range throughout the product life cycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, supporting product vision, pricing and working closely with engineering, operations, sales, marketing, manufacturing, finance, regulatory and quality to manage successful products. This person will be a business champion who has been recognized for their expertise in managing small and medium-sized enterprises. They will be responsible for ensuring the company's product management performance meets the agreed-upon metrics across all business functions. In addition, the Global Product Manager will create and develop strategic plans for the short, medium, and long-term success of their assigned product category. As a team member of the business unit, they are responsible for managing the Direct Profit and Profit & Loss of their assigned product/service categories.
Essential duties and/or Functions:
  • Responsible for multiple Avon Protection PAPR’s, SCBA & TIC’s.
  • Determine the positioning of a product to maximize visibility and performance within broader Avon Protection portfolio.
  • Alongside the marketing teams, determine research activities, competitive pricing, and promotional activities of a product category.
  • Gaining an in depth understanding of the industry, trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Lead Voice of the Customer (VOC) & Voice of the Business (VOB) events.
  • Reviewing and monitoring category assortment performance and implementing various action plans for improvement.
  • Finding opportunities to maximize the profitability of the business and conducting financial analysis.
  • Develop exit strategies for unsuccessful products, aligned to creation and management of Phase-In-Phase-Out Plans (PIPOs).
  • Collaborate with Sales and Operations to establish forecasts for product demand to ensure the sustainability of inventory. Checking and managing inventory for various product categories.
  • Collaborate with Sales & Finance to develop annual and three-year budget and revenue plans for the portfolio.
  • Create and circulate reports and dashboard to the organization that provide overview of overarching strategy, monthly/annual sales performance with direct profit management, risks, competitive movement, and near-term objectives.
  • Adjusting strategies and materials to improve sales with new target markets.
  • Work lockstep with the marketing & sales teams to determine pricing models and development of promotional activity that will enhance sales.
  • In conjunctions with Sales forecast new product demand and reviewing product pricing to ensure they meet margin targets with healthy YOY growth.
  • Implementing various strategies through in-depth analysis of pricing, competitor analysis, and various other market information.
  • Working closely with our internal teams (engineering, sourcing teams etc.) to manage new product development from ideation to discontinuation.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Business Administration or Marketing preferred) or related professional work experience. Master’s degree a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience of safety/health, first responder, industrial or military products.
  • Experience managing technical products, from development through launch.
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or beat assigned targets, KPI’s and deadlines consistently.
  • Experience with cross-functional teams that include engineering, manufacturing, regulatory, sales, operations and marketing staff.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including presentation experience to large and diverse audiences.
  • Seasoned experience using Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • 15% Travel Required.

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Cadillac, MI is $125,000 to $132,000 annually. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, type and years of experience within the industry, education, etc.
