Purpose: The Production Manager will supervise the supervisory staff responsible for production activities and ensure the well-being, safety training, and morale of production employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure production schedules and quality standards are achieved.
Address collective agreement issues, including handling grievance matters.
Evaluate all aspects of departmental performance regarding budget, financial plans, plant-operation objectives, and develop continuous improvement strategies.
Introduce team-based manufacturing concepts to production staff.
Participate as a member of the Management Team responsible for planning, budgeting, and implementing Total Quality Management (TQM) and the 5S program.
Maintain a culture of safety and promote safety practices within the plant.
Job Requirements
Candidates must demonstrate supervisory and managerial skills, including planning, leadership, delegation, and a working understanding of assembly operations, cost center management (including budgeting and cost reduction plans), and customer quality requirements.
Understanding of collective agreement requirements, as well as health, safety, environmental, and employment legislation.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Management, Production Management, or a related field in manufacturing.
Experience
5 years of progressive managerial experience in manufacturing operations, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
Skills
Effective communication, strong leadership, and organizational abilities.
Proficiency in computer skills.

Working Schedule
Standard work hours consist of 9-10 hours per day, 5 days a week on an assigned shift. Schedule hours may be adjusted as needed for employee training. Ability to work overtime or irregular hours, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, as requested.
