US Ghost Adventures is seeking a skilled, full-time marketing writer and editor to contribute to our tour experience expansion. We are looking for a meticulous and proactive individual to take on the role of Product Listing Quality Control Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for a range of crucial tasks, including creating engaging web copy and content, researching, proofreading, and writing and/or re-writing portions of text--specifically on front-facing listings and descriptions of tour experiences and activities on 3rd party websites (DMOs, OTAs, travel sites, review sites, Google My Business) and websites. We are looking for a highly-engaged, enthusiastic, and experienced candidate who is passionate about their work and has a commitment to excellence and integrity. In this role, you will work with OTAs (online travel agencies) and review sites to manage creation of new listings and ensure accurate representations of the company's offerings and consistent branding across all sites.
The best candidate will have extensive writing, web copywriting, and marketing copywriting experience. Knowledge of the travel and tourism industry, destination management, and hospitality (specifically hotels, activities, historic sites, bed & breakfast establishments) is a preferred bonus but not required.
We have over 150 tour experiences and are creating new tour experiences in many cities around the country. We will then be creating engaging and compelling web copy to market these tours.
This is a remote W-2 role and not a contract position. You must reside within the United States and be fluent in the English language.
Job Duties:
- Manage and update listings on third-party websites, including Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs), Online Travel Agencies (OTAs), review sites, and Google My Business
- Upload Product Listings, descriptions, images, and pricing with accuracy and attention to detail
- Work closely with OTAs to manage the creation of new listings and ensure accurate representation of our offerings
- Conduct thorough Quality Control checks on all online listings to ensure accuracy, consistency, and optimization for highest conversions
- Collaborate with the marketing and content teams to ensure that product information and online listings are up-to-date and aligned with brand standards
- Identify and rectify any discrepancies or errors in Product Listings promptly
- Monitor and manage customer reviews and inquiries on third-party websites
- Keep abreast of industry trends and changes in listing requirements on various platforms
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Quality Control, preferably in an e-commerce or tourism-related setting
- Familiarity with online listing platforms, including OTAs and review sites
- Ability to analyze and ensure listings are compelling marketing copy that will engage prospects and customers
- Ability to write effective, engaging, and compelling marketing copy across all sites
- Ability to create and evaluate engaging visual and written content
- Write titles, product features, and classifications to positively impact organic search results
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for coordination with all departments
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented mindset and strong organizational abilities.
- Willingness to learn new systems and processes
- Knowledge of SEO principles related to online listings is a plus
- Knowledge of the travel and tourism industry, destination management, and hospitality (specifically hotels, activities, historic sites, bed & breakfast establishments) is a preferred plus but not required
- Deals with confidential Information and/or issues using discretion and judgment
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Control, marketing copywriting, or a similar role
