Quality Control Technician
Reporting Relationships:
- Directly Reports to Quality Supervisor
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Sample materials for retains and lab testing.
- Perform laboratory tests in order to produce reliable and precise data to support the internal positive material release program.
- Perform required in-process verifications in the plant during production of finished product.
- Operate all standard laboratory equipment, for example, density, moisture balance, pH machines, FTIR. Learn new methods if needed.
- Use new equipment and electronic software systems to place on hold or release inventory based on test results.
- Able to follow and ensure strict food safety procedures and verify the HACCP control points are working.
- Maintain Laboratory cleanliness and organization by picking-up, cleaning, sterilizing, and distributing materials, equipment and samples.
- Ensure the laboratory is well-stocked and resourced by keeping inventory of stock and ordering supplies.
- Keep equipment in calibration by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; performing routine checks and calling for repairs when needed.
- Resolve problems by examining and evaluating data; selecting corrective steps.
- Complete projects by assisting Quality Manager; attending and participating in group and project meetings if needed.
- Perform environmental swabs, and send for lab testing.
- Perform lot trace in the computer system when needed.
- Create, review or modify SOP documents.
