We are currently looking for a Freelance Product Development Associate.
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following:
- Study line development of all Menswear brands, and be able to discuss fabrics, trims, and factory allocations in relation to the styles.
- Know the PLM system and be able to get all information when needed or make corrections in case it is necessary.
- Ensure all styles are set up correctly via PLM including correct trims and fabrics, and be able to launch proto request, SMS requests and buyers test requests.
- Drive T&A + Design Calendar and communicate with all partners and cross functional teams to make sure everyone is well prepared and aware of the calendar to achieve final market dates in timely manner as planned.
- Manage line development and its process with full responsibility and ownership, and guide the team through better effectiveness of the process.
- Have direct contact to all factories (not just via email) and drive all overseas communication to drive sample execution in time and solve problems or delays in timely manner
- Work closely with Design Director in a bi-weekly TB meeting to confirm calendar update, address any development issues, factories and line updates, and process improvements and problem solutions.
- catch up on all late developments to reassure all samples arrive in due time according to calendar and avoid all delays for us to meet market on time.
- Prepare for all CFT meetings with any development updates and build a rapport with all cross-functional teams.
- Keep all SMS and Proto samples properly archived and organized, know where everything is, and have control on their status.
- Receive all sample packages, Lab dips, Bulk approvals, and update charts accordingly.
- Be able to anticipate issues and get ahead of them ? fabric/style development, calendar, etc.
- Work on preliminary cost target with factories in early stages of development.
