Job Summary:
Monitor products and programs of both The Standard and its competitors and inform senior leadership of competitive differences. Develop, justify and recommend enhancements in products and programs in accordance to the market needs and the company's growth and profitability goals. Provide answers to technical product and program questions.
Responsible for gathering, analyzing, cataloging and distributing actionable market and competitor intelligence to the enterprise. Collects information from a variety of sources for subjects including but not limited to products, services, capabilities, technology, sales processes, sales enablement, compensation programs, service and business models, competitor strategies and financial performance, industry ratings, and market trends.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Partner with sales and subject matter experts to gather, analyze and distribute market intelligence on product and program trends of competitors. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitor's strategies and performance. Create and maintain competitive material document library for Fully Underwritten and Guarantee Standard Issue product offerings. Build and disseminate tools, competitive marketing pieces, and detailed comparisons of competitor products, services, capabilities & rates, competitor & market reports for a variety of audiences including sales, marketing, product development, business unit leaders, etc. Disseminate intelligence that provides sales partners with information necessary to understand our competitive position in the marketplace. Produce and distribute quarterly analysis reports/newsletter on competitive activity. Acts as a resource providing in-depth competitive information and support to Sales, Underwriting, Actuarial and Claims.
Job Specifications:

  • Demonstrated skills: strategic thinking; strong writing and presentation skills; project management; research and analysis; relationship and network building; attention to detail; oral communications skills; business acumen;
  • Ability to: effectively communicate with various audiences; understand sales and marketing strategy; work on assignments with minimal guidance; transform data into tools and reports.
  • Knowledge of: IDI products, services, capabilities, programs, competitors, marketplace,
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in the insurance industry with emphasis on underwriting, claims; or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.

Please note - the salary range for this role is listed below. In addition to salary, our package includes incentive plan participation and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits, as well as an initial PTO accrual of 164 hours per year. Employees also receive 11 paid holidays and 2 wellness days per year.
  • Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.

Salary Range:
$71,000.00 - $104,000.00
