Procurement Manager-Indirect

Job Description

UTZ Quality Foods is seeking a Procurement Manager-Indirect to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Procurement-Indirect, this position is responsible for developing category strategies that meet company objectives, and for leading supplier selection, management, and performance, that relate to sourcing and procurement of various indirect materials and services categories such as Information Technology, Marketing, HR, and Corporate Services.  The role has accountability for driving year over year cost improvements and works collaboratively with IT, Marketing, HR, and Supply Chain to lead and coordinate strategic sourcing and supply management projects. Key stakeholders include leaders in Finance, Human Resources, IT, Marketing and Supply Chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute Indirect category strategies that align to Utz business strategies (e.g. conduct spend analysis, align business objectives, conduct supply market analysis, etc.)
• Provide fact-based recommendations to executive level management for constructing the best overall strategic buy decisions.
• Drive strategic Indirect supplier selection and relationship cultivation
• Lead the supplier selection process through management of formal RFP, RFQ and RFI processes.
• Develop and negotiate long term purchasing contracts that include favorable terms and advanced supply chain optimization programs such as supplier-owned inventory, just-in-time delivery schedules, and reduced lead times.
• Support Supplier Development efforts with Utz strategic Indirect suppliers that aggressively manage cost and increase value to the business
• Maintain a deep understanding of supply market dynamics for assigned categories
• Achieve annual value improvements for Indirect categories
• Apply “best-in-class” techniques to determine all available opportunities to optimize the costs of IT and Indirect products and services
• Manage supplier performance and oversee supplier quality issues.
• Develop strong cross functional relationships with key stakeholders in the business including Finance, IT, Human Resources, IT, Marketing, and Corporate Services.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
• 5 years of experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Marketing or IT2+ year category experience in Corporate Service, IT, Marketing, Human Resource.
• 3-5 years of experience in CPG, Food or Beverage Industry.
• Knowledge of and experience in proactive Supplier Development activities (root cause problem solving, lean manufacturing, kaizen).
• Excellent negotiation skills.
• Project Management Skills.
• Demonstrated ability to bring projects to conclusion.
• Understanding of cost of goods and selling general and administrative expenses.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to think strategically and champion ideas.
• Capable of effectively interacting and influencing all levels in an organization.
• Ability to work with critical deadlines.
• Energetic and self-motivated.
• Robust computer experience.
• Industry knowledge.
• Willingness and ability to work hands-on with projects – while maintaining a full project perspective.
• Working knowledge of SAP or Microsoft D365.
