The Houston-Galveston Area Council is one of the largest regional planning commissions in the country with a diverse service area of 13 counties and more than 7 million people. We are the pulse of our region addressing issues that cross city limits and county lines every single day.

What will I be doing?
ü Procurement activity of goods/services of varied amounts utilizing varied procurement methods
ü Develop requests for proposals/qualifications and manage the solicitation through contract award
ü Perform requests for bids/quotes and issue purchase orders as applicable
ü Be the subject matter expert and provide interpretation of policy and procedure to contractors and end users
Key Qualifications
ü Applicable experience may substitute for education
ü Strong experience in procurement of commodities and complex services
ü Strong background in commodity procurement of varied types and extensive knowledge in large bid tabulations
ü Knowledge of governmental bidding and solicitation practices along with OMB standards
ü Experience with accounting and purchase order software
ü Proficiency in all Microsoft Office suite applications
Do you have…
ü Bachelor’s degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study
ü 3 years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, school or in job related duties
